Okay - June saw the end of school. Since we didn't get out of school until June 7th, there was a lot of school stuff at the beginning of the month. Both Graham and Kate had their field days, and I helped out at them.

Then, on the last day, Kate had her 5th grade awards ceremony. She got a ton of awards, and we are so proud of her. She is a model student. We took this picture in front of the poster we made for Mrs. Andrizzi for Teacher Appreciation week. They reused it for the class banner at field day :)

As usual, I was in charge of the neighborhood last day of school party. It was a lot of work to set up the bounce house and stuff, but it was so much fun! We had around 20 families come, and the kids played in the water and on the bounce house for hours. It was a good day.

On Saturday that week, I took a group of Kate's friends on a bike ride to Sonic. We had a good ride, and it was hilarious to watch all of these girls order and pay for their meal. Fun girl trip :)

On Monday, June 12, Kate had her 11th birthday, and a very fun party. We had 15 girls, and they did a sabotage, cupcake challenge. Each group of three had to create a cupcake with the ingredients on hand, and then after it was baked, decorate it and get it's presentation perfect. Then, we invited a guest judge to judge the cupcakes.
The only problem was that Chad was walking around giving the teams sabotages, and there was a time limit.

Super fun party! The girls said that it was the funnest party ever! While they were waiting their turns in the kitchen, they were doing several craft projects. That part was a little messy and crazy, but the cupcake part was great. Here is Kate blowing out her candles on her cake. There sure was a lot of cake!

We got news that grandpa King was experiencing Liver failure. He was pretty sick for a couple of days, and everyone rushed to visit him. Since he is 99 years old, I guess everyone thought it might be the last time to see him. However, he is bouncing back a lot. By the time I spent a day in Pocatello with him on Wednesday, June 14, he was sitting up, reading mail, eating regular food, very chatty and even sang my dad and I a song, which I recorded.

The Saturday after that was packed full. Audrey's soccer team and Luis' '04 boys team did a conditioning trip up a steep trail near Parley's canyon. I went along and got this shot of them all.

Meanwhile, Chad went on a 140 mile bike ride!!! He started in Delta, UT and rode to the University of Utah. They started at 6:30 am, and didn't finish until around 5:00 pm. That is a long ride!! So proud of him that he finished. It got pretty tough around mile 70, and he was able to hang on and get it done!
Graham had his first baseball game. He hit off the coach's pitches very well. He seems a little old for this league, but since we are going to miss 4 of 8 games, it is probably just our speed.

Then we were all off to hang out with my sisters and brothers and their families at a splash park in Highland. We had fun with everyone, and it was good to see them. The Texas brothers were in town to visit Grandpa King, since he was sick, but on their way back home, they lingered in Utah with us.

The next day was Father's day and my birthday. We celebrated and helped dad feel special. We are grateful to him for all he does for us!

We had a chance to go to the Bear Lake Cabin one more time. Here is the view from the far side of the pond. It is a beautiful cabin, in a magnificent spot. We have loved this cabin. They are tearing it down this summer and building a new one. Good bye sweet cabin!

While at Bear Lake, we visited Minnetonka Caves. I never went as a kid, though I know my mom took the cub scouts. It was awesome to get a chance to go. The kids loved it, and it was so cool inside, what a break from the heat!

Carson's first and only track meet this summer. We are gone for most of them, but it was a joy to be able to see him do this one. He is quite the hurdler, and he has been very dedicated to track this year.

Graham took swimming lessons, and here he is on the last day jumping into the pool and showing off. They had already passed off their other skills, and did this for about 10 minutes at the end. He is learning a ton!
Yesterday, we spent the morning with Eli Black at his baptism, and had a wonderful lunch with everyone. Afterwards, we drove up American Fork Canyon for a drive to Tibblefork Reservoir. We happened to run into the Poole's there and got to paddle around in their kayaks. Very fun. Now is it is time to get ready to go to Europe!
