November Sneaks By

In November - we started out with a great visit to the Marins. They made us tons of meat in true Argentine fashion and then afterwards, the Marin band played a few songs for us. What a neat night!
The Young Women Class 1 have been having a great month. Here we are as secret service girls in hand crafted pink hats.
Kate goes to Red Rodeo.
Graham has his football banquet. The coaches say nice things about him.
I go help out at Deseret Manufacturing. I also got to take Louisa. Because she just arrived from Venezuela - we tried to speak in Spanish to communicate. That was a big stretch for me, but good practice.

We hosted the Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year. We had my sisters and their families, the Marins and Kathy and Gary. Very exciting and fun day!

Here we all are!! (except Chad, who is too sick to join us and upstairs sleeping).

We watched BYU soccer have the craziest comeback ever in the elite 8 vs North Carolina. We were down 0-3, but BYU women really turned it on in the 2nd half! they scored in the second half, and then with 10 minutes left, scored 3 more times! We won 4-3. Here we are cheering them on!!!
Audrey and I went on a little hike with Nicole up the Bell Canyon trail. What a beautiful morning!!!

October is beautiful

Here is Graham's concussion look. This is how he weathered his football game. He was water boy for a couple weeks.

Going to a BYU football game. We won! This was the game against Cincinnati, our first Big 12 home game.

Graham finally makes it to a football game. This week he brought Carter.

We went on a drive after Conference. Here we are going up the Alpine Loop. It was so beautiful. We did a little hike with the dogs, also.

Graham gets stitches from a school accident. He fell in PE and cut his let open. We didn't tell football coaches about this because he had missed so much football!

Graham finally plays some football! Here his is white jersey #95 vs Park City, 4 overtimes!!

tackling the running back, red jersey #95. He is great at defense, and he loves it!

Einstein's first grooming appointment. He looked like a cute teddy bear afterwards.

Fall doggy sweaters :)

Kate has two bed ornaments now. How cute.

Here the dogs are wearing their jackets.

Graham only got to play in one lacrosse game, the last one of the year. They won!
Saturday football games were at the same time as lacrosse.

And, then Graham got another concussion in the semifinals vs Grantsville A team. The guy blocking him was going for his head and face mask. His injury came on a play where his helmet came flying off. What a bummer. The team lost, no more football, but he can't go to school yet, trying to recover, again!

Kate and I took some girls to the Taylor Swift "Concert" at movie theatres. It was really fun!

Chad and I went on an outing to the Maze. What a interesting place. Here is our camp site below standing rock.

This was our view! Pretty amazing! We never saw another human for over 48 hours!!

Halloween! Doggy costumes!

Jake, Graham and Oliver

Kate as Elsa for her peer tutoring class.

Kate as Wednesday on Halloween night with her friends.

September feels like we are on Repeat

Bagel and Einstein are becoming friends. They play together and work out their doggy problems now. It's very cute. Einstein is 16 weeks old!

Audrey ran her first Marathon!! Here she is at the end. We spectated the race, catching her running by and celebrating with her at the end. What a neat day. Chad tried to run it, also, but was sick that week, and couldn't finish it.

Meanwhile, Graham had a fever and couldn't play football.

But Kate did!! Here is Kate's "Hawk Tamales" flag football team for the Alta Homecoming Pep Rally. She loved playing and did well.

Here is Kate catching a pass. It actually got knocked out of her hands by the defender, but it was very exciting game to watch!

Kate goes to Homecoming dance! She went with Jacob Ison.

Remember, Mrs. Stockman's 4th grade class. How cute.

Here is her Homecoming group together.

And, Graham got a concussion. Again. Yes, 4th one, 3rd in football. And yes, now you know why we are stuck on repeat. So Graham is out of football for at least 2 games.
He only got to play in 3 of the last 7. Missed 1 for a broken toe, 1 for fever, and now 2 for concussion. I think this fall is a lessen in perseverance....

But, apparently Scuba Diving doesn't bother concussions? Here is Graham at Scuba last night for Young Men's. He wasn't about to miss this . . .

August zooms by

August has been interesting! We started the month believing that Graham would not play football, then he decided he would and went to the first practice (already missed the tryouts!), then the next day, broke his toe and couldn't walk and run anymore. What a rollercoaster for the poor kid! So, Graham spent 2 weeks not doing much because of his toe. The week before school started, he didn't get cleared by the podiatrist like we thought he would. Finally, despite hurting still, Graham started to get involved with the team. He played his first game last Saturday, and had a great showing. We are glad he stuck with it through the down times! (He is kneeling in the grey shirt in this picture).

This month, lacrosse is going to start for both Graham and Kate! Kate has her first game next week, and Graham's first lacrosse game should be the 16th. Graham agreed to do lacrosse when he wasn't doing football. So, now he is a double sport kid! This is a fall full of firsts for us!

August is always the Bair Gutsman month. This was the 50th running of the Crazy Bob's Bair Gutsman. The race turned out pretty special! We had 225 finishers! What a fun day! The fastest women's time ever recorded was this year, and both Chad, Audrey and Kate represented our family very well with solid finishing times. Great day, great race!

School started, and we are off on the adventure that is. Schedules are tighter, but I am enjoying the days on my own! Audrey came home for a couple of weeks, so that was really fun. I also have helped with the Alta PTSA, so I have kept really busy.

August was fun with Young Women's activities. We went boating, swimming, up the canyon for s'mores, etc. It is so fun to work with these girls.

August brought us our new family member, Einstein! He was a 9 week old Berna doodle. He is a super cute dog, we are so glad to have him in our family. It has taken a little getting used to, though. He is a true puppy, and that makes Bagel seem like a grandpa in his actions. This puppy runs around, jumps randomly, bites on everything, and loves people. He whines if we aren't around. He seems super happy making new friends and being with the kids.

Kate got asked to Homecoming, and I did a little digging. I found a cute picture of the couple in Mrs. Stockman's 4th grade class. Here they are :) They are going to have a fun night!!
