August Explodes with fun

As July was ending, we had a Iverson family outing. We had to squeeze it in amidst the obligations of our kids, but it was a ton of fun. Here is Carson jumping off the high dive at Lava Hot Springs. He did all three platforms and returned to do them again. He is so brave!
On Monday, Chad, Kate and Graham did a float trip down the Portneuf river in Lava Hot Springs. It was a great time.
Here is a pic of the full Iverson clan that did the floating.

Meanwhile, back at home, Carson was participating in a Robotics Camp at Alta High, and here is his team competing with their robot during the Robot tournament. They did well, but lost in the Championship match. Carson had a lot of fun building and designing their robot, and it was a pretty good design idea.
And Audrey - she was doing soccer tryouts. After several intense tryout sessions, the teams were sorted, and she landed on the Freshman/ Sophomore team. She was pretty heartbroken, because she expected to make the JV team. Anyway, the one bright spot is that she will be with several of her friends on this team, because 5 sophomores are on the team. We are proud of her, and she is working her tail off to get a chance at JV next year!
Our first annual Bair Gutsman owned and operated by Chad and Nicole!! It was a family event, and the almost everyone pitched in and helped to register, do food and water stations, and to help with results. It was a great day! We have a great family!

Our annual trip to see the hot air balloons was a little uneventful. We did get chocolate milk and donuts, but no hot air balloons. They never launched them because it was too windy. Bummer. At least it was a pretty morning and nice to watch the sun rise!

Kate played in the Murray Max tournament and her team got second place. She played tough, and we are so proud of her! They shut-out the first three teams they played, but their final game was a real challenge. These girls are learning a ton. It was also nice to borrow Koko and Abby Tripp for the games. It was fun to hang out with them in between games, also.
Back to school shopping with Kate, Koko and Emily. These girls are going to have so much fun at middle school!!!
Going to get solar eclipse glasses at the Planetarium meant a little extra playing time on their new exhibits. Graham is driving a Mars rover in this picture. Fun!
Graham is officially on the Alta football team! He practises and plays so hard. Here is his first game. He is number 44. He plays on the defensive line and that is him mid line pushing through the offense. He is so fun to watch. Below is him ready to tackle the ball carrier who has just fallen to the ground. Way to go, Graham!

First day of school!!! Kate and Koko . . ..

Kate started middle school, and so far it is going well. Graham is all alone in elementary school. 2nd grade is great, he got the teacher he wanted, and seems ready to learn.

Graham . . . .

Carson and Audrey are settling in to their new classes and schedule.

Audrey's first Soccer game for Alta 2017 team. She had a terrific game vs Park City. She had some shots on goal, played defense and mid-field, had some big kicks, passed well, and just did a great job. We are so proud of her. They won 8-0, mercy rule ended the game.

Kate's first week of soccer, She played well, and it is fun to watch her! Here they are playing Utah Storm.

Graham's team runs onto the field for their 2nd game . . . .
